Description
The guide includes design procedures and design examples for steel plate shear walls in both high-seismic and R = 3 applications. The design guide has been developed in accordance with ASCE 7-05 (Minimum Design Loads for Buildings and Other Structures), ANSI/AISC 360-05 Specification for Structural Steel Buildings, and ANSI/AISC 341-05 Seismic Provisions for Structural Steel Buildings. Analytical and capacity-design methods presented in this design guide can be utilized with either LRFD or ASD load combinations. Only the LRFD method is used in the design examples.
