Cesare Lombroso, the Italian psychiatrist and criminal anthropologist, is almost universally recognized as the founder of scientific criminology For the first time, under one cover, this Lombroso omnibus gives us access to the complete range of literature by and about Lombroso and the development of criminal anthropology and to fascinating ephemera as well. This material is extremely valuable partly for what it shows about the types of sources from which turn-of-the-century readers in English-speaking countries first learned about Lombroso, and partly because many of his articles published in the English language periodical press have been hitherto unknown to researchers.
