Description
This work shows the sheer quantity of fictional characters that emerge from the novels, short stories and the occasional play of Sinclair Lewis (1885-1951), which contribute significantly to the character, quality and art of American fiction during the first half of the twentieth century. In addition to the summary of each characters description and function, this guide includes a seventy-page listing of actual persons who are contemporaries of Lewis, and figures from history, literature, science, and philosophy, whose names Lewis felt should be mentioned in a variety of contexts or who were assigned cameo roles. A summary of each novel, short, story or play is included.
