Special points of interest include archaeological evidence of the Roman and Saxon periods; an examination of the relationship between William Shakespeare and two of his fellow actors, John Heminges and Henry Condell, both of the parish; the role of the church during the seventeenth century English Revolution; a full account of the rebuilding of the church by Sir Christopher Wren after the Great Fire of London; and finally, the amazing story of the re-erection of the Church of St. Mary, Aldermanbury, on the campus of Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri, as a memorial to Sir Winston Churchill who gave the historic “Iron Curtain” address at the College in 1946.
