Description
The 2015 Wood Frame Construction Manual (WFCM) for One- and Two-Family Dwellings was developed by the American Wood Council’s (AWC) Wood Design Standards Committee. The WFCM Wood Frame Construction Manual for One-and Two-Family Dwellings and WFCM Commentary 2015 Edition provides essential guidance for builders and designers. In addition, it is referenced in the 2015 International Building Code. It is also referenced in the 2015 International Residential Code.
Tabulated engineered and prescriptive design provisions in WFCM Chapters 2 and 3 are based on the following loads from ASCE 7-10 Minimum Design Loads for Buildings and Other Structures. Specifically, Chapter 2 contains engineered provisions. Meanwhile, Chapter 3 contains prescriptive design provisions.
