This ICC Standard addresses the unique concerns associated with bleacher seating. It addresses new and existing installations of all types of bleacher seating including fixed and folding bleachers intended for indoor, outdoor, temporary and permanent use. This Standard is intended to coordinate with the means of egress systems in the building codes. Features of this updated edition include: Provisions added to clarify accessible means of egress requirements for exterior raised bleachers. Specifics for access and means of egress for press boxes and platforms used for cameras, audio and security are addressed. Many improvements and additional design options for handrails along stepped aisles. To address safety concerns, the requirements for existing bleachers now address where aisles and handrails are added and where open risers must be infilled.
